Thomas (Tom) Smock is a nationally known expert in helping employers in dealing with “high risk” union and union free issues.  Tom joined Ogletree Deakins on January 1, 2007.  Before that, he was a named Partner in a labor boutique firm who specialized in union issues.  He helps employers to develop strategies in dealing with difficult union initiatives, including corporate campaigns and multi-plant strike coordination.  Tom also provides union-free employers guidance and training in union avoidance.  He regularly trains supervisors and executives on the advantages of knowing how to avoid unionization.

Tom is also known as a relationship lawyer who assists clients in advancing their solutions to problems through a network of satisfied clients for almost 40 years.

Tom has particular expertise in Coal, Steel, Aluminum, and Health Care.
