Ogletree Deakins Grows Employee Benefits Practice, Welcomes Robert Ellerbrock

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.  – July 18, 2017 – Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to welcome Robert Ellerbrock to the firm’s Birmingham office. Ellerbrock joins Ogletree Deakins from Balch & Bingham LLP and focuses his practice on employee benefits and ERISA.  

Ellerbrock regularly advises clients concerning qualified retirement plans (401(k), defined benefit, 403(b)), non-qualified plans, fringe benefits, health and welfare benefits, Affordable Care Act compliance, and executive compensation issues. Ellerbrock draws on years of experience before law school in the retirement plan industry when he counsels clients in the design and implementation of all types of employee benefit plans.

Outside of his practice, Ellerbrock is heavily involved in his community. He has served as mayor of Kimberly, Alabama for the past four years, as well as a city councilman and volunteer firefighter. He was listed in Birmingham Magazine’s Top Attorneys for 2014 and 2017 and is a member of the American Bar Association, Alabama Bar Association, and Birmingham Bar Association. He earned his J.D. and LL.M. from The University of Alabama School of Law.
