The New York Assembly passed a bill (A9148) that would raise the New York minimum wage from $7.15 per hour to $8.50 per hour effective January 1, 2013, and for food service workers receiving a minimum cash wage, to $5.86 per hour. It also would index the minimum wage to inflation, beginning on January 1, 2014 and annually thereafter.
