Litigation Paralegal

• Researches law, investigates facts, and independently prepares documents to assist attorneys with matters.
• Summarizes complex legal documents.
• Organizes and indexes case files and privilege logs.
• Determines and calendars deadlines.
• Performs wide variety of legal research, fact investigation and data compilation.
• Files pleadings with courts electronically or by personal service.
• Prepares reports and correspondence.
• Drafts affidavits or other pleadings i.e. stipulations, notices, subpoenas, etc. and maintains document file.
• Assists attorneys in preparation for depositions, arbitrations, mediations and trials.
• Communicates with witnesses and experts as well as legal services vendors.
• Enters billing and expense data into Firm system in a timely manner.
• Travels to courts or client sites as needed.
• Proofread all documents and cite check/bluebook briefs.
• Conduct document review and prepare/manage document productions.

• 6+ years of paralegal experience, preferably working in a labor/employment litigation practice.
• Paralegal certification / degree from accredited college or university.
• Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; Lexis-Nexis and WestLaw, Relativity (or other e-discovery platforms), Live Note, Concordance, Case Map, Docketing, Document Management System, expense and billing systems.
• In depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles.
• Experience in preparing attorneys for trials, arbitrations and mediations.
• Must be detail oriented, possess superior analytical skills with the ability to mine and collect data for cases.
