Counsel

• Monitor labor and employment law developments in states, localities, and other jurisdictions and curate content to keep client-facing digital platforms and tools for multistate and multi-locality compliance current and accurate.
• Conduct research and write/update timely summaries of state and local law (and some federal law) developments for client-facing digital platforms and products
• Collaborate with firm attorneys and members of the firm’s Client Services, Knowledge Management, and IT departments to ensure that clients and firm attorneys get timely notice of state, local, and some federal law changes, mainly through digital products.

• Juris Doctor. Qualified candidates must be and remain licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state of employment. During employment, must meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice.
• 5+ years of relevant labor and employment law experience, either in-house or for a law firm.
• Client-facing experience a significant plus.
• Outstanding and efficient legal research skills
• Superior analysis skills—including the ability to categorize often confusing and poorly-drafted statutes and guidance into understandable, bite-sized groupings, with accompanying explanations
• Excellent writing ability and communication skills—including the ability to translate legalese into plain-English when possible.
• Ability to effectively and creatively present complex topics to clients
• Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented
• Ability to manage and work collaboratively and closely with attorneys, clients, and other departments and staff, including excellent interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft office applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Able to use content marketing technology like dashboards and mobile website technologies to publish updates to content
