Position Summary

The Milwaukee office of Ogletree Deakins has a unique opportunity for a Labor and Employment attorney to join the firm’s expanding practice.  We are seeking a highly motivated lawyer who wants the resources, professional development, and benefits of a large-firm experience but in a bustling and collegial small-firm environment (best of both worlds!). We are open to candidates with varying career preferences, ranging from shareholder-track associate position to other “non-track” arrangements. This position provides a unique opportunity to enhance existing skills and knowledge by working with subject matter experts in a variety of areas—ADA, FMLA, Title VII, restrictive covenants, wage and hour, class and collective actions, traditional labor, handbook and policy development, state leave laws, etc.  Duties include, but are not limited to, performing legal research; drafting legal memoranda, motions, pleadings, position statements, employee handbooks, policies, and pleadings; arguing motions; taking and defending depositions; managing cases with limited direct oversight; attending court conferences; handling discovery-related activities, and investigations.  We provide our attorneys with multiple writing, publishing and speaking opportunities, cutting-edge technology, and access to robust professional development training programs.
