On October 15, 2012, a parallel Assembly bill (A3389) was introduced.
On October 28, 2009, President Barack Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for the 2010 Fiscal Year, which includes provisions that expand the military leave entitlements of the federal Fam-ily and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). The NDAA amends both the “qualifying exigency” and military caregiver leaves that became effective in January 2008.

Marijuana is one of the most prominent substances detected in drug screens of job applicants. Mine operators have routinely made blanket prohibitions against marijuana for safety and legal compliance. But what about marijuana prescribed for medical purposes? And what about recreational use of marijuana during non-work hours in states that allow marijuana use without a prescription? These are just a few of the issues faced by employers.
