Ashley Donnell is an associate in the Tampa office and focuses her practice on representing corporations and employers in labor and employment matters, including discrimination, retaliation, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and whistleblowing. She also provides counsel regarding handbooks, employment policies, managing accommodation requests, employment and separation agreements, and general employment advice. Ashley has extensive experience defending her clients before federal and state courts as well as before administrative agencies.

Ashley partners with her clients to determine the best way to meet their goals, whether by assisting in the implementation of employment policies, negotiating early case resolutions, or aggressively and cost-effectively defending her clients against claims brought in state or federal court. Ashley is admitted to practice in all Florida courts as well as the U.S. District Court for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Ashley was senior attorney with the Pinellas County Attorney’s Office, where she handled labor and employment matters, workers’ compensation, premises liability, and advised on employment policies. Ashley is Board Certified by the Florida Bar in the area of City, County, and Local Government Law.

Ashley attended law school at the Stetson University College of Law, where she served as the President of the Student Bar Association. Ashley attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate studies, graduating cum laude.

When she isn’t practicing law, Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband and two young daughters, basking in the natural beauty of the Sunshine State, and rooting for the Tampa Bay Lightning (Go Bolts!).
