Candace S. Walker

Ms. Walker began her career as a lawyer as a law clerk to the Hon. V. Sue Shields, Indiana Court of Appeals.  Before joining Ogletree Deakins in 2000, she was an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Indianapolis, advising city agencies on a wide variety of legal issues.  From 1995 to 2000 she was a Chief Counsel for the City of Indianapolis handling labor and employment matters for City of Indianapolis and Marion County agencies.

Ms. Walker advises public and private sector clients on labor and employment matters including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, the WARN Act, USERRA, and state law issues such as unemployment compensation, worker’s compensation and state wage and hour compliance.  She has extensive experience in collective bargaining in the public sector and in administering public sector collective bargaining agreements, including grievances and arbitration.  Ms. Walker has represented clients in employment matters in state and federal court as well as before the EEOC, the NLRB, and in state administrative matters.
