Dana Salmonson focuses her practice on defending employers against current and former employees in all aspects of employment litigation. She has extensive experience representing her clients in wage and hour class and collective actions both in state and federal courts involving hundreds and thousands of putative class members. These cases include alleged violations of minimum wage, overtime, and off-the-clock work. Dana also defends her clients in employment matters involving claims of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination brought under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. In addition, Dana handles administrative charges filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Nevada Equal Rights Commission.
Dana’s practice involves all aspects of litigation, including presenting oral argument before state and federal courts and drafting motions. She also has experience taking and defending depositions, conducting discovery and collecting evidence, and engaging in dispute resolution. In addition to her litigation practice, Dana counsels employers regarding compliance with federal and state laws.
Dana graduated magna cum laude from Michigan State University- College of Law in East Lansing, Michigan. While in law school, she served as a judicial clerk for the Hon. Judge Lisa Gigliotti at the Michigan State Office of Hearings and Administrative Rules for the Department of Community Health. Upon graduating from law school, Dana returned home to Las Vegas, Nevada, focusing her career on civil and commercial litigation prior to joining Ogletree Deakins.
Outside the firm, Dana is very involved in the community, volunteering with many non-profit organizations throughout Las Vegas. She is an active member of the Junior League of Las Vegas, having previously served on the Board of Directors from 2014-2017. In her spare time, Dana enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.
