Hannah provides legal counseling regarding the variety of complex laws affecting employers and the employment relationship including employee hiring and discipline, administering employee leave requirements and policies, responding to accommodation requests, drafting and implementing employment policies and handbooks, addressing data privacy concerns, conducting internal employment complaints and investigations, and advising on best practices to avoid employee complaints and litigation.

Hannah also advises and represents clients in labor and employment law matters, including federal and state litigation and administrative matters before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, Indiana Department of Workforce Development, Indiana Civil Rights Commission, and local human rights agencies.

Prior to joining Ogletree, Hannah worked for the Department of Defense, defending the agency in a wide variety of employment complaints and litigation, and also practiced employment law at the Indianapolis office of a large regional firm.


Hannah has provided employment-related counsel and defended litigation and claims brought against a wide variety of clients, including government agencies, large corporations, and small family businesses. Her clients have included several agencies within the Department of Defense, pharmaceutical companies, health care providers, restaurants, retail stores, equipment and material manufacturers, environmental services companies, universities, and not-for-profit agencies.  Representative experience includes:

  • securing favorable decisions for Department of Defense Agencies, following full hearings on the merits, in cases involving, among other things, allegations of hostile work environment and racial discrimination, disability discrimination--including failure to accommodate, age discrimination, and gender discrimination;
  • obtaining summary judgment on behalf of Department of Defense Agencies in cases involving allegations of discrimination in Agency hiring practices and disability discrimination;
  • obtaining summary judgment on behalf of a chemical processing company following allegations of hostile work environment and constructive discharge;
  • defending private sector employers from more than 60 charges of discrimination before the EEOC and state administrative agencies.
