Heather M. Martone

Associate || Los Angeles

Heather Martone is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Ogletree Deakins.  Before joining the firm, Heather practiced labor and employment litigation with the New York City Law Department on behalf of the City of New York.  She also previously practiced in the New York City office of a major international law firm, where she focused on structured finance litigation.  Upon her graduation from law school, Heather clerked for the Honorable Ramon E. Reyes, Jr., of the Eastern District of New York.

Heather graduated summa cum laude from Brooklyn Law School in 2011.  During law school, Heather was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society’s Trial Advocacy Team and served as Managing Editor of the Journal of Law & Policy.  Her Journal Note, 2.2 Million Children Left Behind:  Food Allergies in American Schools–A Study of the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Management Act, 18 J.L. & POL’Y 775 (2010), was cited by the Maryland Court of Special Appeals in Pace v. State, 5 A.3d 1121, 1128 n.1 (Md. Ct. Spec. App. 2010).

Heather represents employers in all aspects of labor and employment litigation, including discrimination and class actions.  Heather has specifically defended employers in cases involving constitutional claims and discrimination based on age, gender, disability, and race.  Heather’s particular experience includes defense of public sector employers and their high-ranking officials.
