John W. Fogarty

Associate || Morristown

John Fogarty is an associate in Ogletree Deakins’ Morristown office. John’s practice focuses on representing life, health, and disability insurance companies in ERISA litigation matters in state and federal courts across the country.

Prior to joining Ogletree, John completed two judicial clerkships. From 2019 – 2020, John clerked for multiple justices on the Maine Superior Court. Then, from 2020 – 2021, John clerked for Hon. Lance E. Walker, United States District Court Judge, for the District of Maine.

John graduated cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law in 2019 where he was a member of Maine Law Review. While in law school, John served in the positions of SBA President, Teaching Fellow for Criminal Law and Torts, and Admissions Fellow. John competed in the Robert F. Wagner National Labor and Employment Law Moot Court Competition. Also in law school, John externed with Judge Kermit Lipez on the First Circuit Court of Appeals and spent his summers with Unum and Local 19 Sheet Metal Workers’ Union. John completed his undergraduate studies at Villanova University where he was a member of the Men’s Soccer Team.
