Katrina (Kat) Grider is Of Counsel in the Houston office of Ogletree Deakins.  Kat is a nationally recognized trainer and facilitator. Kat develops highly customized company and individualized training programs for executives, managers, employees, in-house legal and HR professionals. Kat has a simple training philosophy:

  • Use plain language rather than legalese – talk with and not at people
  • Create highly interactive, engaging, and safe environments – foster learning by open discussion and dialogue
  • Use common sense solutions, practical approaches, and real-life workplace examples – impart knowledge by helping people connect the dots between “why” and “don’t”
  • Inspire, motivate, and transform – help managers and employees become visionary leaders and champions for cultural change

Kat’s passion and inspiration for training comes from her deep reservoir of experience and insights. For the past 30 years, Kat has been doing training, litigating labor and employment law cases before federal and state courts, and administrative agencies; counseling clients on general employment law issues, personnel policies, best practices, and diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) training initiatives; and conducting internal investigations.
