Kerry Burns is a commercial litigator focusing her practice on business and employment litigation and counseling. Kerry represents employers around the country in a wide range of business disputes concerning wrongful termination, failure to accommodate, discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wage and hour issues, before state and federal courts and administrative agencies. Kerry also has extensive experience advising employers in connection with employment issues that arise during mergers and acquisitions. Kerry additionally provides counseling to employers on litigation avoidance by designing policies and strategies to mitigate risk and to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

Kerry began her career as an associate at Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP, where she represented Fortune 500 companies in complex, high-stakes litigation and regulatory matters involving defamation, breach of contract, and securities fraud. She also advised clients in connection with internal cross-border investigations and matters before the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Prior to joining Ogletree, Kerry practiced business and employment litigation at a boutique firm in New York City.

Kerry has also represented numerous pro bono clients in partnership with Sanctuary for Families and the Legal Aid Society. She has been recognized by both of these organizations for her work and dedication to her clients.
