Krystina L. Barbieri is an Associate in our Morristown, New Jersey office. Her practice focuses on defending employers against employment-related claims in both state and federal court, as well as before state and federal agencies. Ms. Barbieri has practical experience with claims alleging discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower, and non-competition/non-solicitation matters. Ms. Barbieri also has experience in the defending wage and hour claims and has written extensively on workplace issues affecting the LGBTQ community.
Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Ms. Barbieri gained extensive Human Resources experience working for Wakefern Food Corporation, the largest retailer-owned Cooperative in the United States. Ms. Barbieri was responsible for the hiring, development, and succession planning for Associates. She was also called upon to address Associate complaints, participate in investigations, and administer Associate disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and terminations.
Ms. Barbieri has a B.A. in International Relations with a focus in Economic and Political Development from Brown University, where she was a member of the Brown Women’s Lacrosse team. Ms. Barbieri earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University in 2015. During her time in law school she participated in a Judicial Externship with the Honorable Tonianne Bongiovanni (D.N.J.). Over the summer of 2014, Ms. Babrieri was a part-time legal intern for the employment law firm Smith & Downey, P.A. where she conducted legal research on various employment issues and assisted in the revisions for the 9th Edition of the Nonqualified Deferred Compensation Answer Book.
