Lia Lesner is an Associate in the Charlotte office of Ogletree Deakins. Lia's practice is focused on all aspects of employment litigation, from class and collective claims to single-plaintiff discrimination claims. Following up on extensive experience as a commercial litigator at a large, international full-service law firm, Lia is also developing a sub-specialty in both drafting and litigating restrictive covenants and other assorted commercial matters.
Prior to law school, Lia gained valuable "real world" experience in human resources and management while working in the retail industry. In various capacities with Lancôme, USA and Marshall Field's, she was responsible for operations and employees in a multi-state region.
While earning her law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law, Lia was an Articles Editor on the Wake Forest Law Review and selected for the Order of the Coif and Order of Barristers. She was also very active in moot court, and was a finalist in the Tulane Mardi Gras National Sports Law Moot Court Competition and was a member of the Wake Forest National Moot Court team.
