Monica L. Lacks

Senior Counsel   |   Cleveland

Monica is Senior Counsel in the firm’s Cleveland office, where she works directly with employer-clients, representing them in single plaintiff and class action litigation as well as administrative proceedings before the U.S. Department of Labor and other agencies. With subject matter expertise in wage and hour class and collective actions, Monica also assists employers in evaluating and revising their policies and practices to minimize potential exposure under federal and state overtime laws. Monica also worked with the firm as KM (Knowledge Management) Content Counsel, developing multi-jurisdictional resources for Ogletree employer-clients, including 50-state and major locality employee onboarding requirements, handbooks and other policies.

Monica is actively involved in the local community. She is a certified 200-hour yoga teacher (CYT-200, RYT-200), and regularly teaches yoga to women in substance abuse recovery through the Cleveland-based non-profit Mommy and Me Too. Monica is the co-founder of Paws for the Homeless, a non-profit that provides pet food and supplies to pet owners in the homeless community, including domestic violence safe houses. She also has mentored with College Now of Greater Cleveland and tutored high school students in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District for the Ohio Graduation Test through the Cleveland Metro Bar’s 3R’s program.
