Pia Padfield is an associate in the London office of Ogletree Deakins. She advises clients from a variety of different sectors on all aspects of employment law, both contentious and non-contentious.
In particular, Pia handles Employment Tribunal claims from start to trial, including negotiating settlement agreements and participating in mediation, advises on dismissals, redundancy procedures, TUPE transfers and outsourcing, discrimination issues, restrictive covenants, whistleblowing, equal pay and breach of contract issues. Pia also advises on HR issues, such as holiday pay and sickness absences, maternity and flexible working, performance management and disciplinary and grievance procedures and drafts employment contracts and policies.
Pia is a member of the Ogletree Deakins International Practice Group and advises on employment related issues associated with international acquisitions, dismissals, restructuring, and cross border issues. Pia speaks fluent Italian and has recently advised on the redundancy consultation procedure in Italy.
Pia trained in a top UK law firm in the City. Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins Pia worked as an employment law specialist at the largest recruitment company in the world. Pia has particular expertise in advising the recruitment sector and her focus is on providing practical and commercial advice.
Pia also has experience in conducting the advocacy in Employment Tribunals and successfully won a costs appeal at the Employment Appeals Tribunal (resulting in a costs award being made against the losing party).
