Renel Datulma is an associate attorney in the firm’s Pittsburgh office. Renel focuses his practice on employment matters on both federal and state levels.
Prior to joining Ogletree as a full-time attorney, Renel worked at the firm as a law clerk and summer associate for two years. During those two years, Renel assisted attorneys on various labor and employment matters such as union elections, marijuana laws, EEOC actions, OSHA actions, employment discrimination, ADA, Title IX, Title VII, and constitutional issues. Renel also assisted in the creation and conducting of client presentations on various labor and employment matters. Renel has assisted clients in understanding the legal landscape of their respective industries while assisting in the reduction and prevention of the challenges associated with their respective industries.
Furthermore, Renel has previous management experience in the hotel industry, as he was a Department Supervisor and a Training and Development Intern assisting in the training and guidance of fellow departmental leaders. His work in those capacities garnered him recognition for turning around a department and guiding it to Leading Hotels of the World Achievements. His efforts earned him the Greater Miami and the Beaches Hotel Association Inn Key Award for Employee of the Year.
A 2020 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Renel was Vice President of the Student Intellectual Property Law Association, Vice President and Treasurer of the Black Law Student Association, and coordinated the Shuman Scholars program, where law students would present educational subjects and inspire students at the Shuman Juvenile Detention Center. Additionally, Renel received the honor of being selected as a Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Scholar in 2018.
