Stephanie C. Ng joined Ogletree Deakins in 2019. Her practice is concentrated on ERISA and benefits matters, with a focus on health, life, and disability litigation. Stephanie has handled a wide spectrum of disputes involving employee benefit plans, including benefit claim denials, breach of fiduciary duty allegations, and conflict of interest issues. She has also navigated complex multi-party ERISA litigation cases, involving different types of benefit plans and overlapping federal and state law claims. Additionally, Stephanie has assisted insurers with recovering overpayments and enforcing their reimbursement and subrogation rights. She has defended insurance companies, health plans, and fiduciaries in both state and federal court, and is familiar with the interplay between different areas of the law that give rise to preemption issues.
With significant litigation experience, Stephanie is well-versed in leveraging strengths and mitigating risk factors, which enables her to develop effective strategies that best serve her clients’ objectives. Stephanie recognizes that the landscape of employee benefits is constantly evolving, and regularly monitors current litigation trends, precedent setting decisions, and changes to the law, to ensure that her clients stay ahead of the curve.
Outside of the office, Stephanie is active in the community. She regularly volunteers with BakerRipley’s Immigration and Citizenship Forum, works with high school students through local mentorship programs, and supports Dachshund Rescue of Houston. Stephanie is also a member of Houston Bar Association’s Lawyers for Literacy Committee and the Houston Lawyer Editorial Board.
