Tate Wines is an experienced litigator who defends employers in a variety of complex disputes, including wage and hour issues, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and breach of contract. He has successfully handled both single-plaintiff and class action litigation, appearing in state and federal courts around the U.S. Tate has obtained dismissals or negotiated resolutions in the early stages of litigation, and he is adept at advising employers on how to improve their policies and procedures following recent litigation. His litigation experience includes conducting key witness interviews, taking and defending depositions, retaining expert witnesses, preparing clients for trial, and supervising e-Discovery in complex cases.
In addition to his active litigation practice, Tate excels at drafting essential legal documents and providing comprehensive employment counseling. He is proficient in drafting employment contracts, severance agreements, employee handbooks, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, and other compliance policies. Tate has also contributed to quarterly employment-related publications for the New York Law Journal and maintains an active pro bono caseload. Prior to joining the firm, Tate completed a two-year federal District Court clerkship and is a graduate of The University of Chicago Law School.
