James joins Ogletree Deakins from Taylor Vinters, where he was a partner and head of the firm’s Employment Law Team. James is the second shareholder to join Ogletree Deakins’ London office in 2017. With more than 20 years of experience representing employers in all areas of employment law, James represents and advises employers on global employment law issues, including hiring and firing, compliance issues, union issues, litigation, and restructurings. James also regularly advises employers on issues pertaining to redundancy, defending employment status claims, and restrictive covenant disputes. James has particular experience advising employers on workforces based in Europe and Asia Pacific.

Throughout his career, James has been recognized by prestigious legal organizations, including being ranked as a leading lawyer in both the Legal 500 and Chambers directories. A sought-after speaker, James has presented on HR issues and employment law topics at numerous events and seminars, including International Bar Association (IBA) Employment and Discrimination Committee conferences, a presentation to the international law students at Moscow University, and at conferences that he organizes to share best practices in cross-border employment law issues.
James is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the International Bar Association.
