TAMPA, Fla. – July 17, 2018 – Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to announce that Ignacio Garcia and Caren Marlowe, shareholders in the firm’s Tampa office, have been named in the Labor and Employment category of the Florida Trend‘s 2018 Legal Elite. Sara Sanfilippo, an associate in the Tampa office, is included on the Up & Comers list.
Florida Legal Elite is a roster of attorneys chosen for recognition by their peers. The 1,012 lawyers listed exemplify a standard of excellence in their profession and by so doing, have garnered the respect and esteem of their colleagues. Voting for this year’s Legal Elite attorneys began in October 2017 when Florida Trend invited all in-state members of the Florida Bar to participate. Lawyers were asked to name attorneys whom they hold in the highest regard or would recommend to others. Attorneys were given a score based on the number of votes they received, with more weight given to votes from outside of their firm. Only lawyers who are currently licensed and practicing in Florida were eligible for selection.
The list of top vote recipients was examined using membership status and histories provided by the Florida Bar. A panel of previous Legal Elite winners, representing different practice areas in cities across the state, reviewed the list of finalists. The resulting list represents less than 1.2 percent of the active Florida Bar members who practice in Florida.
The Legal Elite Up & Comers are attorneys under the age of 40 who have exhibited leadership in the law and in their community. The 2018 Up & Comers list features 128 attorneys.
