Danielle Maldonado is an associate in the Chicago office of Ogletree Deakins, with a strong track record representing employers in individual plaintiff and representative employment litigation. Her practice centers on defending companies, of all sizes and in all sectors, in a broad range of labor and employment matters, arising under numerous federal and state laws, such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and numerous state and local laws. She represents clients in both state and federal courts, as well as before other state and federal agencies, including the US Equal Opportunity Commission and the Illinois Department of Human Rights. She also routinely advises clients on day-to-day employment issues and frequently drafts, revises, and assists clients with employment policies, agreements, severance, and separation packages.
Danielle devotes a significant portion of her practice to advising on and litigating restrictive covenant matters, including non-compete, non-solicitation, and confidentiality agreements. She regularly helps clients enforce or challenge post-employment restrictions, manage employee transitions, and mitigate risk in competitive hiring situations.
Danielle maintains an active pro bono practice, representing families seeking asylum in the United States and is a recipient of the National Immigrant Justice Centers Rising Star 2020 Award in recognition of these efforts.
