Maria started her employment law career at a local Minneapolis law firm, focusing on employee-side employment litigation, where she represented employees in administrative proceedings as well as in state and federal courts. She thereafter transitioned to a local law firm focusing on HR and employment counseling for Minnesota and nationwide employers.
Maria now represents various employers in employment litigation matters, including whistleblower claims, cases involving discrimination in areas of race, sex, age, and disability, and breach of employment contracts and unfair competition. Maria’s work focuses on advising employers of all sizes on a variety of human resources and employment related issues, from hiring to termination, employment procedures and policies, leaves of absences, accommodations, wage and hour, discrimination and harassment prevention, and other employment law compliance issues. Maria provides human resources trainings and conducts internal investigations.
Maria brings a unique employee insight into the employer side of employment law. Her ultimate goal is to minimize her clients’ legal exposures and focus on pragmatic employment practices.
Outside of the office, Maria enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
