ATLANTA – August 28, 2006 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins) is pleased to announce the addition of Alfred B. Robinson, Jr. as a shareholder in the firm’s Washington office. Robinson, who recently left his position as the acting Wage and Hour Administrator at the U.S. Department of Labor to join Ogletree Deakins, brings with him years of expertise in wage and hour regulatory compliance. The Wage and Hour Division is responsible for administering and enforcing some of our nation’s most comprehensive labor laws, including the minimum wage, overtime, and child labor provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
Before Robinson’s position in the Department of Labor, he served in the South Carolina House of Representatives for ten years. Prior to that, he practiced labor and employment law in Upstate South Carolina for twenty years, representing clients in litigation before the EEOC, NLRB and other administrative agencies. He will be splitting his time between the firm and the firm’s Ogletree Governmental Affairs subsidiary.
“The addition of Al Robinson increases our firm’s national reputation and strengthens our position as being one of the top labor and employment law firms in the country. His depth of experience and knowledge on fair labor standards issues is a nice complement to the Ogletree Governmental Affairs practice and will be a tremendous asset to the firm and its clients,” said Gray Geddie, managing shareholder of Ogletree Deakins.
