(Ogletree Deakins), one of the nation’s largest labor and employment law firms, welcomes Evan Moses as a shareholder to the firm’s Los Angeles office.  Moses was previously a partner in the Labor and Employment Department of Winston & Strawn LLP’s Los Angeles office, which he joined in 2000 after working for Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP.  Moses litigates both state and federal employment disputes, including “bet the company” wage and hour class actions and claims for wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, breach of contract, and violations of ERISA and non-compete agreements.  He has also handled matters pending before the National Association of Securities Dealers, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, and the Department of Labor Standards Enforcement.

In addition to his litigation experience, Moses also counsels management of Fortune 500 companies with respect to all aspects of employment law, including compliance, hiring, discipline, termination, benefit, leave of absence, disability and regulatory issues.  He also assists employers in conducting workplace investigations, planning and implementing reductions in force, and preparing employment policies and procedures, handbooks and affirmative action plans, and he regularly conducts training for managers and front line supervisors.

“Evan is an extremely talented and hard-working attorney who has a wide knowledge of employment law, particularly with respect to wage and hour class actions,” said Cheryl Schreck managing shareholder of the Los Angeles office.  “Evan is first and foremost client-focused, and  he will be a tremendous asset to our office in assisting with the professional development of junior attorneys in our office.  His impact with clients and colleagues will be immediate.”

Moses earned J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1998, where he was an associate editor of the UCLA Entertainment Law Review.  In 1993, he received a B.A. in English, with distinction, from Pennsylvania State University.
