Ogletree Deakins Elects Rachel Reingold Mandel and Katherine Rigby as Shareholders

BOSTON – January 13, 2014 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to announce that Rachel Reingold Mandel and Katherine Rigby have been elected to the position of shareholder.

Mandel represents employers in a broad range of employment matters before state and federal courts and administrative agencies in both Massachusetts and Connecticut and regularly practices before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD), the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO), and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). She also counsels employers on employment-related issues, including compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Title VII, Massachusetts and Connecticut employment laws, and wage and hour laws. She earned her J.D., with honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law.

Rigby focuses her practice on litigating claims involving wrongful discharge, breach of contract, unemployment compensation, negligent hiring and retention, Title VII, the ADA, FMLA, ADEA, Employment Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and other federal statutes and state laws in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies. She also regularly counsels employers on human resource issues, including employment agreements, handbooks and policies, hiring new employees, employee discipline and terminations, and compliance with federal and state employment laws. Rigby earned her J.D. from the Wake Forest University School of Law.
