HOUSTON – December 1, 2014 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. Meyer joins Ogletree Deakins from Meyer Moser Lang LLP, where he was a founding and managing partner. He is the sixth attorney and second shareholder to join Ogletree Deakins’ Houston office in 2014, a testament to the firm’s strategic growth in the market in response to client demand. Shareholder Merritt Chastain joined the firm in April.
An accomplished attorney with more than 20 years of experience representing employers in labor and employment matters, Meyer focuses his practice on government investigations and audits, disputes with departing executives and managers, reductions in force, wage and hour compliance and litigation, the defense of discrimination charges, and leadership training. He has handled cases in courts across the United States, including litigation against the EEOC and defense of large class and collective actions. Meyer has considerable experience representing employers in the homebuilding, technology, financial, energy, oil, and gas industries.

Meyer has established himself as a leader in the Houston legal community. Prior to founding Meyer Moser Lang LLP, he started and led Jones Day’s Houston-based Labor & Employment Practice Group and served as the managing partner of Seyfarth Shaw’s Houston office. He has been lauded for his accomplishments, including recognitions by Chambers USA, Best Lawyers, and Super Lawyers. Meyer, who is certified in Labor Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, earned his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center.
