ATLANTA – October 12, 2015 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to announce that the firm is the newest member of the Legal Technology Core Competencies Certification Coalition (LTC4TM), a non-profit organization that has established legal technology core competencies and certification that law firms use to measure ongoing efficiency improvements. Members contribute their knowledge to establish industry standard core competencies for legal technology, which are organized into nine learning plans and lead to a certification that is recognized internationally with the aim of improving legal practice efficiency via better use of technology.
“Clients increasingly demand more efficiency from their law firms, and a LTC4 certification tells them that we are skilled in the technologies necessary to meet their demands,” said Kim Ebert, Ogletree Deakins’ managing shareholder. “This differentiator also underscores a tenant in our Client Pledge where we pledge to harness technology and innovation to better serve our clients’ interests.”
LTC4TM has developed a certification path for attorneys that benefits all law firms by having a commonly recognized industry standard for each audience. The attorney core competencies and certification have been developed to provide the skills necessary to address attorneys’ professional responsibilities to the firm and clients in order to create and oversee quality work product, avoid risk, and maintain confidentiality and compliance. Each learning plan within a core competency is workflow based and designed to allow member firms to incorporate their own best practices. This allows firms to tailor their training and evaluation efforts to gain improvements in efficiency.
“Law firms must continue to be innovative and differentiate themselves from competitors,” said Marcia Stokes, director of learning and employee development at Ogletree Deakins. “LTC4 certification is another demonstration of how we are aligning with our clients’ needs for efficiency and consistency.”
LTC4TM’s core competencies will be released through the firm’s OD University and managed by the learning and employee development team.
