Ashley Cuttino to Lead Ogletree Deakins Women’s Initiative

   |   Press Release

GREENVILLE – January 25, 2016 – Ashley Cuttino, a shareholder in the Greenville office of Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), has been selected to lead the Ogletree Deakins Women’s Initiative (ODWIN), which was established to support the firm’s women attorneys in four key areas: talent development; alumnae relations; flexibility/awareness; and business development/client relations. ODWIN offers programing and initiatives to aid the development and advancement of Ogletree Deakins’ women attorneys in leadership opportunities, mentorships, business development strategies, and identifying educational resources.

Beyond her leadership in ODWIN, Ashley is actively involved in raising the profile of women in the legal community and in her local community. Ashley is on the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association, a member of the National Association of Women Lawyers, and Past-Chair of the Greenville YWCA. She is also a Fellow in the American Bar Foundation and named in Super Lawyers. Ashley is married to her high school sweetheart and is the mom of three young children ages 10, 7 and 5. She spends all of her free time with her family.

“Being selected to lead ODWIN at this stage in my career is one of my most significant achievements to date,” said Ashley Cuttino. “As others before me have stated, women attorneys must lower the ladder to those that are coming behind them, help pull them up, and thrust the ladder up for all to climb. This role will be a challenging one, but I am committed to improving the day-to-day life and overall status of women in our profession.”

Ashley concentrates her legal practice in management-side complex and routine employment litigation and counseling. In her litigation practice, she defends claims related to wage and hour, data breaches, discrimination, wrongful discharge, and breach of contract in single- and multi-plaintiff litigation, as well as class actions. In her counseling practice, Ashley advises employers on a full range of employment issues, including medical and disability issues, privacy concerns, and all forms of workplace policies. She also negotiates and drafts employee-related agreements, including employment and separation and release agreements.

A member of the firm’s steering committee for the Records Retention and E-Discovery Practice Group, Ashley is experienced in e-discovery, the use of emerging technologies in the workplace, and developing records retention policies. Ashley is also a member of the firm’s Data Privacy Group steering committee. In this capacity, she regularly helps employers draft and develop data privacy, technology, and data security policies, and advises clients about the data security aspects of human resource related policies.
