Cal/OSHA Tries Again: The Latest on the Proposed COVID-19 Standards

Once again, just as frustrated employers are beginning to think they might understand the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health’s (Cal/OSHA) COVID-19 workplace regulations, the agency changes course. On June 9, 2021, Cal/OSHA revoked the new COVID-19 Emergency Temporary Standards that the Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board approved on June 3, 2021. Cal/OSHA has stated that the agency will issue new proposed COVID-19 regulations on Friday, June 11, 2021, with a Standards Board vote to follow the next week.
