Ellen’s practice focuses on representing employers in a variety of employment law matters. A skilled litigator, Ellen devotes a substantial amount of her practice to employment litigation. She defends employers in administrative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and other government agencies, and in litigation at the state and federal court level with respect to employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims, as well as restrictive covenant, wage and hour, and other contract- and tort-based actions. Ellen is a member of the employment law, higher education, and leaves of absence/reasonable accommodation practice groups. Ellen also has experience conducting workplace investigations.

Prior to joining the firm, Ellen represented clients in a variety of litigation matters including securities class action, complex commercial litigation, and creditors’ rights and bankruptcy. Ellen received her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Alabama, where she graduated magna cum laude and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Ellen received her law degree from the University of Virginia, where she was the president of the Virginia Law Women. She served as the First Round Presiding Justice for the William Minor Lile Moot Court Competition.
