Paloma Peracchio is a shareholder in Ogletree Deakins’ Los Angeles office.
Paloma has represented employers for her entire legal career, both in counseling and litigation. With her clients, Paloma has navigated numerous issues brought under California’s complex and ever-evolving employment laws. Her litigation experience includes defending against wage and hour lawsuits brought under the California Labor Code and Wage Orders, including those with claims for meal and rest break violations, alleged unpaid overtime and minimum wages, off-the-clock work, reporting time pay, suitable seating, and inaccurate wage statements. Paloma also has experience litigating representative actions, including both class actions and claims for civil penalties brought under the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA).
Paloma also has extensive experience handling single plaintiff employment matters for her clients. These cases include claims for harassment, discrimination, and retaliation brought under the California Fair Employment and Housing Act, and other statutes. She has defended her clients in Labor Commissioner hearings and conferences for single employee wage and hour claims. Paloma has also provided training for employers and Human Resources professionals, including topics such as sexual harassment, handling leaves of absence, and requests for accommodation in the workplace.
Paloma is an experienced litigator and has handled cases through all phases of litigation – including discovery, summary judgment, mediation, and trial. Paloma has represented clients in a variety of industries, including retail, hospitality, insurance, security, and government.
Paloma received her J.D. from Loyola Law School in 2008.
