Kate Trinkle is an enthusiastic problem solver who is passionate about working with employers to find practical and realistic solutions to employment challenges, whether in the courtroom or in day-to-day workplace operations.
Kate’s litigation experience includes representing employers against a variety of employment-related allegations, including claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination in administrative proceedings and in federal and state courts, including Indiana small claims court. Her experience also includes defending employers against alleged violations of the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and state equivalents, as well as employment-based claims tied to consumer reports, including criminal history information. Kate also has trial experience.
In addition to her litigation experience, Kate provides practical advice and counseling to clients on a wide range of employment law issues. In particular, she helps clients navigate federal, state, and local background check laws and industry-specific regulatory requirements, like Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act (FDIA). Kate also conducts training and workplace investigations for clients.
Outside of her legal practice, Kate serves as a Co-Chair of ODAble, Ogletree Deakins’ Affinity Group for neurodivergent and disabled employees. She also supports the Indianapolis community through the Indianapolis Bar Association, and working with local non-profits, Dance Kaleidoscope and Child Care Answers.
Kate is a proud alumna of the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, graduating cum laude. Before becoming an attorney, she worked as a regulatory specialist for a healthcare technology management company based in Indianapolis. Originally from Georgia, Kate moved to Indianapolis to attend college at Butler University for her undergraduate education. A Hoosier at heart, Kate enjoys cheering on the Indiana Pacers and Butler Bulldogs basketball teams.
