Daniel T. Paxton is an experienced litigator with a track record of successful and cost-effective representation. As an associate in the firm’s Morristown office, Daniel’s practice focuses on representing management in all aspects of employment law, including matters concerning discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and non-competition agreements. Daniel also provides invaluable advice and counsel to clients with an eye to avoiding litigation and limiting potential risks.

Daniel previously served as Assistant Corporation Counsel – Labor and Employment in the Law Department for the City of Jersey City. In this position, he represented Jersey City in all aspects of labor and employment matters, including claims involving alleged discrimination and retaliation under the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, the New Jersey Conscientious Employee Protection Act, the New Jersey Civil Rights Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, and the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, as well as other federal, state, and local statutes.

In law school, Daniel excelled academically, earning the position of Editor-in-Chief of the Seton Hall Legislative Journal, the award for Best Oral Advocate in Appellate Advocacy, and the Edward D. Benattar Trial Advocacy Scholarship. Daniel was also honored to be selected as the Commencement Speaker for the Class of 2016.

Prior to attending law school, Daniel worked for over a decade as a high school English teacher in New Jersey’s public schools. Daniel continues his work in education as a volunteer and Advisory Board Member for NJ LEEP – the New Jersey Law and Education Empowerment Project – a college access and success program serving students and families in the greater Newark area.
