On January 15, 2010, a bill (A-4226) was signed into law (P.L.2009, c.206) clarifying the provisions of the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination (N.J.S.A. 10:5-1) to explicitly include “autism spectrum disorders” in its definition of disabilities covered under the law. As reported in the December 2009 issue of the New Jersey eAuthority, the bill was introduced based upon a recommendation included in the October 2009 report of the Adults with Autism Task Force.
