On February 5, 2024, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) published a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) to update the agency’s “Fire Brigades” standard. The predecessor to the proposed rule applied solely to firefighting—as a primary work function or as part of a team assembled by an employer to deal with fires in the workplace. The sweeping new proposal impacts firefighters, emergency medical service providers, technical search and rescue workers, skilled support workers, workplace emergency response teams, and others. In this webinar, the speakers will provide an overview of the proposed rule and its impact on employers.
