CHICAGO – May 13, 2024 – Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to welcome Jeffrey Rudd as a shareholder in the firm’s Chicago office. Rudd joins the firm after more than a decade in the Chicago office of Jackson Lewis, where he was a principal.
Rudd has a proven track record of success in high-stakes employment litigation, including claims brought under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Employment Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN), and various state statutes and common law doctrines. He has litigated more than 100 class and collective actions brought under federal and state wage and hour laws and has substantial experience defending and prosecuting emergency litigation, particularly involving breaches of non-competition agreements, misappropriation of trade secrets, and breaches of fiduciary duty.
Rudd’s legal acumen extends to counseling employers on a full range of labor and employment law issues, negotiating and preparing employment agreements, managing reductions-in-force, drafting personnel policies, and conducting rigorous internal audits and investigations. With a background in representing clients across various industries, including manufacturers, consumer lenders, national exchanges, private equity funds, hedge funds, and proprietary trading firms, Rudd’s experience aligns well with Ogletree Deakins’ commitment to providing exceptional service to a broad range of clients.

Rudd has presented at numerous continuing legal education and industry seminars. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
