Austin Freeman defends and advises Fortune 500 companies, non-profit entities, public agencies, and private companies in all aspects of state and federal employment law, such as wage and hour class action litigation and PAGA claims. Austin is experienced with claims brought under The Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), the Labor Code, The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and other common law theories of employer liability. He also counsels clients on employment needs including handbooks and meal and rest break policies.
Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Austin served as a Judicial Law Clerk in the United States District Court, Southern District of California to the Hon. Barbara L. Major. Because of Austin’s clerkship and litigation experience, he is adept at identifying efficient and creative litigation strategies. Prior to his clerkship, Austin focused on various employment litigation claims at an AmLaw 100 law firm in San Diego, California.
