Ogletree Deakins Deepens Illinois Attorney Talent, Welcomes Matthew Gagnon as Shareholder

CHICAGO – September 24, 2024 – Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to welcome Matthew Gagnon to the firm’s Chicago office as a shareholder. Gagnon joins the firm from Seyfarth Shaw.

Gagnon has more than two decades of experience advising and defending employers on a full range of employment law issues, with a specific focus on class action discrimination, pay equity, and wage and hour litigation. He also has experience managing administrative agency investigations, including alleged pattern or practice, policy and class cases relating to unequal pay, hiring and pre-employment testing, background checks, promotion, and reasonable accommodation processes. Gagnon represents employers across myriad industries, including financial institutions, manufacturers, hospitality and restaurant companies, retailers, technology, and educational institutions.

Gagnon frequently writes and presents on a variety of employment issues, particularly on equal pay and EEOC litigation. He earned his J.D. from Columbia University Law School and his B.S. from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
