Jamil is of counsel in the Fresno office of Ogletree Deakins. His practice focuses on defending employers in class and representative actions. He also litigates single plaintiff cases including but not limited to alleged wage and hour disputes, overtime, meal and rest breaks, and wage statement statutes.
Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Jamil rose the ranks of the Office of the District Attorney for Tulare County and promoted into Supervising District Attorney also assigned to Homicide and Major Crimes. As a prosecutor, he litigated numerous major-crimes felony trials, including lengthy homicide jury trials. Jamil supervised various prosecution teams while having developed and implemented litigation training. He was also named the county law-enforcement gang task-force coordinator.
Following his time as a prosecutor, Jamil engaged in private practice where he represented hundreds of clients in both civil and criminal-defense actions. In private practice, he continued to litigate complex jury trials on behalf of his clients. In addition, he conducted numerous civil hearings before a magistrate in the various stages of family-law proceedings. In his over 20-year career, Jamil has specialized in conducting large and complex jury trials while representing various clients, including six figure financial fraud and government embezzlement actions.
