Keep Using the Expired I-9 Form

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approval for the new I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification form lists an expiration date of 06/30/2009 in the upper right-hand corner. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) issued an update on June 26 requesting that OMB extend the document approval and stating that the form may continue to be used by employers until such approval is secured.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) issued an update on June 26 requesting that OMB extend the document approval and stating that the form may continue to be used by employers until such approval is secured. 

The current I-9 Form carries a revision date of 02/02/09 in the lower right-hand corner. Employers should be using the form for all new hires and for any required reverifications of existing employees.
