The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) has released a list of resources to assist federal contractors and subcontractors in conducting effective outreach and recruitment of individuals with disabilities and veterans. These resources provide employers with non-exhaustive information about providing reasonable accommodations to disabled individuals and veterans in the workplace; available tax incentives and credits to employers that have hired disabled individuals and veterans; and methods of recruiting, hiring, and promoting self-identification as individuals with a disability or veterans. OFCCP promises to update the resource links provided. Contractors may find OFCCP’s Employment Resources Referral Directory helpful as well.

Contractors and subcontractors would be well served to investigate the numerous resources available to assist in recruiting and hiring individuals with a disability and protected veterans.  Our experience in OFCCP audits confirms that outreach—and adequate documentation of such outreach—remains a high priority for OFCCP compliance officers and is key to closing an audit with no violations.
