U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) recently announced that beginning April 2, 2018, permanent resident cards, employment authorization document cards (EADs), and travel documents (Advance Paroles) that are returned to USCIS as undeliverable by the U.S. Postal Service will be destroyed after 60 days. To prevent this, intended recipients must contact USCIS to provide a correct address in a timely manner.

Recipients can protect their interests by documenting any contact with USCIS regarding such notification, including proof of receipt of mailed notification. AUSCIS encourages applicants to update any change of address within 10 days of their relocation by completing a Form AR-11, which can be found on the USCIS website  In addition, this website provides applicants with the specific procedures for this address change notification process.
