On May 18, 2016, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) issued its long-awaited final Part 541 overtime regulations that define the executive, administrative, professional, outside sales, and computer employee exemptions from overtime and minimum wage requirements contained in section 13(a)(1) of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The final regulations raise the minimum salary level necessary to qualify for exemption from the FLSA’s overtime requirements; as a consequence, the number of employees eligible for overtime is expected to increase. Our speakers will discuss the details of the new rules and examine how the new minimum salary requirements will impact your business.
