In California, paid leave—whether it is sick leave, family leave, or disability leave—is not a “take it or leave it” proposition. If any of your employees work in one of a growing number of cities (e.g., Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Oakland, or Santa Monica), municipal rules may apply on top of federal and state requirements. In this session, we will address leave challenges where technology and start-up companies frequently make mistakes—for example, accommodating disability-related leave.
