U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that it is postponing the enforcement of its June 28, 2018, policy memorandum allowing USCIS officers to issue notices to appear to those deemed unlawfully present in the United States after the denial of an immigration benefit. Pursuant to the terms of the memorandum, USCIS had until July 28, 2018, to issue operational guidelines to aid in the implementation of the new policy, but the agency missed the deadline. The policy will be implemented once the new guidelines are issued, although USCIS gave no indication of when that will be.
