Iraq’s Council of Ministers has issued a new decision under Article 63 of the Iraqi Labour Law to increase the minimum monthly salary. This decision raises the minimum monthly wage of employees from IQD 250,000 (USD 208 : GBP 158 : Euro 177) to IQD 350,000 (USD 293 : GBP 222 : Euro 250).
The increase became effective on January 1, 2018.
Comment
If an employer has not updated its minimum monthly wage yet, the increased wages will need to be paid retroactively from January 1, 2018.
